Featuring 2020 Dr Ray King Scholarship winner Abel Anwar this livestream concert promises to delight and entertain showcasing both the incredible virtuosity and range of the saxophone. Performing significant and progressive repertoire from the 20th century saxophone collection, Abel and accompanist Carmel Ryan will be sure to dazzle.

Scaramouche by Darius Milhaud, originally written for 2 pianos, and then arranged for saxophone, exhibits characteristic tongue in cheek sections and quirky phrases. The concerto by Ronald Binge, a gem from the English composer, features clever repetition of motifs with a sublime second movement. Pequena Czarda, written in 1949 by Spanish composer, Pedro Iturralde, presents a memorable melody and a vast array of notes that will end an exciting program.
