A new building for the RCM

The Riverina Conservatorium of music moved into its new building at 1 Simmons street Wagga Wagga in February 2023. this amazing, world class, music education facility offers local, visiting and international artists a performance venue that rivals halls across the globe.

The project was initiated in 2014 after the announcement by Charles Sturt University that the RCM’s historic site would be sold.

The Building at 1 Simmons Street was originally the Roads and Maritime Authority’s Riverina Headquarters. After moving to a new location within Wagga Wagga the building becomes vacant and was identified by the RCM and the NSW Government as a possible new home for the RCM.

In 2018 the NSW Premier the Hon Gladys Berejiklian announced that the site at 1 Simmons Street would become the RCM’s new home under the same tenancy arrangement that the RCM enjoyed with Charles Sturt University for almost 40 years.

The new building was completed in February 2023 and marks the start of a new era for the Riverina Conservatorium of Music. The RCM relocated to the new building in February 2023.

The RCM is supported by the NSW Government and acknowledges the support provided by Property NSW, Department of Regional NSW, Department of Education and Create NSW.
